The tiny digital controller inside the compact housing gives you the ability to program the rpm activation point through the easy to view LED panel and two programming buttons. Shift Light for MC-4 (PN 7552)
This compact new Shift Light features a bright LED that will alert you to shift at your desired rpm point. The small Light fits neatly to a steering column or on top of a dash board and stays unobtrusive but illuminates bright enough to see easily in the daylight.
It can also be used with factory or other aftermarket ignition systems through an rpm activated switch.
The MSD Shift Light has a built-in sensing circuit that will turn on the light when the engine hits the rpm you want. To adjust the light's turn on point, you simply plug in the desired RPM module in the socket on the front of the shift light. The MSD Shift Light uses a bright LED array that you can see even in sunlight. The Shift Light is available for 1,2 and 4-cylinder engines. It will plug directly into the tach output on MSD Ignitions, or can hook up to the motorcycle's coil when using a points or inductive type of ignition. Pick RPM Switches by clicking here.
NOTE: For V-Max motorcycles, use part number 15-00-0555 and set to 2-cyclinder. For Harley V-Twins use part number PN 89521.
Launch Selector /Shift Light (PN 4360)
This handle bar mounted controller has several great features. Two control knobs allow you to change the launch rpm setting of the MC-4 manually for last second changes. This way, if you're in the staging lanes you can compensate for changing track conditions with a quick twist of a control knob.
The end of this controller also has a built in Shift Light! A cluster of super bright red LED's will illuminate when the engine rpm reaches the programmed level to alert you to shift at the precise time. There is also a row of bright green lights that will illuminate in sequence to show you which gear the MC-4 presently in.
Hand Held Programmer/Monitor (PN 7550)
If you don’t have a laptop you can also use this handy Programmer to dial-in your MC-4. Simply connect the ignition to this Monitor and the LCD screen will let you walk through the programming menus.
Tach Signal GMR Pick-Up (PN 8918)
Clip to a coil pack’s voltage wire to produce a common 12-volt signal for a tach, shift light or rpm device.
Operates with 5-24 volt input for universal applications.
Just think of things you can easily accomplish with our GMR Pick-Up! This little device simply attaches, no splicing or cutting, to a current carrying wire and turns that information into a 12-volt rpm signal. This signal can be used to activate a shift light, rpm activation switch or a tachometer.
One example is on an engine equipped with a coil-onplug ignition system. One of the coil’s primary current wires is simply routed into the pickup clip and the GMR converts this pulsing into a 12 volt square wave to trigger a shift light or tachometer.
